Private Yoga



In addition to public group classes, I offer three different types of private yoga lessons:

1.  Private 1-on-1 Yoga:

Private one-on-one yoga lessons with a highly qualified teacher are eventually necessary to developing and expanding your yoga practice. Advanced students experience breakthroughs; new students gain skills & confidence. Students recovering from injuries or with special needs benefit greatly from one-on-one instruction before re-entering yoga classes.  The one-on-one session allows the student to explore specific areas of interest such as alignment in asanas, philosophy, chanting, etc., and work toward overcoming any fears or blockages that may be an impediment.

Private lessons can take place in your home, office, or yoga studio.

The one-on-one private session can be set up to explore a myriad of topics:
fundamentals of yoga     how to do a specific asana     adjusting to injury     improvement of practice         post-surgery     postpartum      mantra chanting     questions on yogic philosophy     yoga lifestyle practices

2.  Corporate Yoga:

Corporate Yoga is a class tailored specifically to the needs of your group. We can relax and unwind, or move and sweat! Yoga increases office productivity, decreases back pain, and clears the mind.

3.  The In-Class-Private, or “ICP”:

The Jivamukti Yoga Center in New York City was the first to offer this state of the art experience in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual tuning, and it is through my Jivamukti teacher training that I had the opportunity to learn this special & extremely beneficial teaching skill set.

In the comfort of my hands, you are guided in each and every movement during the yoga class you attend.  Whether sitting, standing or in a vinyasa flow you are led with ease as I make minor or major adjustments to the physical form as necessary. However, it is not only the physical form which benefits from this superb treatment.

Many times psychological blockages prevent us from truly experiencing the bliss of each asana. Sometimes no matter how long we practice or how hard we try, we feel that no progress is made and perhaps even feel a sense of frustration. When we feel comfortable and trust our surroundings, anxiety, fear, lack of self confidence all disappear and major breakthroughs can occur. Through this special technique defenses and barriers are relaxed. It is as therapeutic as a full body massage, releasing stored and blocked energy which can inhibit full freedom of movement.
